No on sexual assaults!

Like you -- I'm appalled at what we've heard this week. Violence against women is unacceptable, and bragging about it is not what we expect from anyone, much less a presidential candidate.

Sexual assault and domestic violence is a serious issue, and one that I've worked hard on as your Attorney General.

Here's what we've already accomplished:

  • We've increased the statute of limitations for rape.
  • We've protected confidentiality of private communications between victim advocates and survivors of sexual assault on college campuses and in the community.
  • We've changed our gun laws to keep weapons away from perpetrators of domestic violence.
  • We've helped establish a shelter for girls age 11-15 who are victims of sex trafficking so they can be safe and testify against their perpetrators.
  • We've brought prosecutions against child pornographers through our Internet Crimes Against Children program.

But the work isn't done.

As your Attorney General, eliminating sexual assault and domestic violence in Oregon will continue to be a top priority for the Department of Justice.

With your support, we'll keep up our work to make Oregon a place where women and children can live safely.
