Data mining kindergartners?! Not on my watch.

As early as kindergarten, students are using online educational programs and apps in the classroom. Technology is an important part of our modern world – but it comes with risks.

That’s why I fought to protect schoolchildren’s information from the get-go.

Educational technology companies track and store all kinds of data on kids. They store their educational records, discipline history, test results, and even food purchases!

Now, the Oregon Student Information Protection Act (OSIPA) prevents these companies from using student information unless it’s for educational purposes. It’s a big win for our students.

As Attorney General it’s my job to stand up to big corporations trying to take advantage of Oregonians.
