My heart is breaking, my anger is rising.

My heart breaks for all the victims, survivors, and families affected by the Las Vegas shooting. If only this was an infrequent occurrence. But it's not.

We've known this violence in Oregon. Sunday marked the two year anniversary of the Umpqua Community College shooting in Roseburg. Now, we grieve for Nevada.

As my heart breaks, my anger rises. We won't stop until we have smart policies that keep guns out of the wrong hands. We can and must do more to prevent senseless gun violence in our country – and the direction that Congress is going is wrong.

Here’s something you can do right now: Call Congress today and demand action to STOP gun violence.

Congress had planned to vote on the SHARE Act this week – an NRA crafted bill that includes a provision eliminating restrictions on silencers, which currently require federal registration and a special license. And they’re also considering legislation to make it easier to take guns across state lines.

This is the deadliest mass shooting in our modern history. Inaction is simply unacceptable.
