We're not giving up.

Wow! I'll be honest, this week has been rough – and it's only half over!

The breaking news? Justice Anthony Kennedy is retiring.

This comes after Tuesday's 5-4 decision to uphold Trump's discriminatory travel ban.

And then yesterday's 5-4 Janus v. AFSCME decision, which is a devastating blow to collective bargaining and the culmination of a generation of attacks against America's working men and women in organized labor.

Even further, Justice Kennedy retiring leaves landmark reproductive rights cases like Roe v. Wade and freedom to marry cases like Obergefell v. Hodges vulnerable.

The news is disheartening, but this is why elections matter. And why we must never give up.

The country is counting on us. Together, we will fight oppression. We will not allow our rights to be jeopardized.

As Oregon's Attorney General, I will always stand up for Oregonians; and I will go up against unconstitutional overreaches by anyone, including the President of the United States.
